Indiana Glass Daisy Amber Sherbet Candle
This vintage sherbet dish was produced by Indiana Glass and features the cheerful Daisy pattern pressed into warm amber glass. Indiana Glass, founded in 1907 in Dunkirk, Indiana, became one of the most prolific pressed glass manufacturers in the United States, known for producing decorative yet accessible glassware that brought color and charm to everyday tables.
Sherbet dishes like this were commonly used for serving desserts such as sherbet, fruit, or pudding at the end of a meal. The Daisy pattern’s delicate floral motifs and the dish’s distinctive square footed base reflect the decorative pressed glass traditions popular throughout mid-century American homes, when even simple serving pieces were designed to add beauty to the table.
Now thoughtfully repurposed, this vintage sherbet dish has been transformed into a candle and filled with 4.3 oz of natural soy wax. When lit, the warm amber glass glows beautifully, highlighting the pressed floral pattern and rich honeyed tone of the vessel. Once the candle has finished burning, the dish can enjoy a second life as a dessert bowl, jewelry holder, or small decorative catchall — continuing its story beyond the flame.
