Amber Daisy Sugar Bowl Candle – Indiana Glass

This vintage amber glass sugar bowl, produced by Indiana Glass, features the beloved Daisy pattern — a design recognized for its pressed floral motif and warm, honeyed glow. The rich amber tone and symmetrical handles give the piece a balanced, sculptural presence, while the raised daisy pattern softly catches and reflects the light.

Indiana Glass Company, founded in the early 1900s, became one of America’s most prolific glass manufacturers, especially known for producing affordable and decorative pressed glass during the mid-20th century. The Daisy pattern draws inspiration from earlier Depression glass designs of the 1920s and 1930s, when glassware in warm hues like amber and pink brought a sense of comfort and beauty into everyday homes during uncertain times.

Originally intended for serving sugar at the table, vessels like this were both practical and decorative — often part of coordinated sets used in daily rituals and gatherings. The handles allowed for easy passing, while the pressed pattern added texture and visual interest.

Now thoughtfully repurposed, this piece has been transformed into a hand-poured candle, filled with 5.6 oz of natural soy wax. When lit, the amber glass glows richly, enhancing the warmth of the flame and highlighting the intricate daisy pattern. Once the candle has finished burning, the vessel can be cleaned and reused as a catchall, small serving dish, or decorative accent — continuing its life beyond flame.
