Fostoria “American” Open Sugar Bowl Candle
This vintage Fostoria American clear glass open sugar bowl features the iconic cubist diamond pattern that made the design one of the most recognizable pressed glass motifs of the 20th century. With its faceted geometric texture, petite pedestal base, and delicate side handles, the bowl balances structure and softness — catching the light in crisp, repeating angles.
The Fostoria Glass Company, founded in 1887 in Fostoria, Ohio (later relocating to West Virginia), became one of America’s most respected glass manufacturers. The “American” pattern, introduced in 1915, quickly grew into one of the longest-running and most collected pressed glass designs in American history. Known for its bold geometric form and substantial weight, the pattern brought a modern, almost architectural feel to traditional table settings. Open sugar bowls like this were originally part of formal tea and dining services, designed to sit alongside creamers and teapots during gatherings.
Now thoughtfully repurposed, this piece has been transformed into a candle — preserving its early 20th-century character while giving it a warm and contemporary second life.
The vessel has been filled with 4.3 oz of all-natural soy wax.
Dimensions:
Approximately 5" wide (with handles) × 2.5" tall

The fragrance opens with bright citrus, softens into layered green and black tea, and settles into a smooth base of sandalwood and cream — clean, balanced, and quietly refined against the bold geometry of the glass.
