Pfaltzgraff “Yorktowne” Stoneware Crock Candle (1967)
This mid-century stoneware crock features the iconic Yorktowne pattern by Pfaltzgraff, first introduced in 1967. With its soft gray-beige glaze and delicate blue floral motif, Yorktowne became one of the most beloved American stoneware designs of the 20th century — celebrated for its durability, simplicity, and understated charm.
Founded in 1815 in Pennsylvania, Pfaltzgraff is one of America’s oldest pottery companies, known for producing practical, well-crafted stoneware that found its way into countless homes. The Yorktowne line, in particular, embodied the mid-century shift toward casual, family-centered dining — pieces designed to be used every day, yet beautiful enough to last generations.
Originally intended as a kitchen crock for holding utensils or pantry staples, this vessel has been thoughtfully repurposed into a candle, preserving its utilitarian heritage while giving it a warm and comforting second life.
The crock has been filled with 5.32 oz of all-natural soy wax.
