Vintage Mid-Century Stainless Steel Dessert Bowl Candle
This charming vintage stainless steel dessert bowl, likely dating to the mid 20th century, reflects the clean, utilitarian elegance that defined much of mid-century tabletop design. With its pedestal base and softly rounded coupe shape, it has the look of a classic ice cream or sundae dish — the kind once used for sherbet, pudding, or after dinner sweets in American homes and diners.
Stainless steel became especially popular in the mid-century era for its durability, sleek appearance, and modern appeal. Unlike silverplate, it offered a practical, low maintenance alternative while still feeling polished and refined. Pieces like this were designed to be both functional and timeless — simple enough for everyday use, but distinctive enough to feel special on the table.
Now given a second life as a hand poured candle, this vintage dessert bowl has been transformed into a playful, nostalgic piece inspired by an old fashioned scoop of ice cream. The candle is topped with a hand sculpted wax scoop, blending mid-century form with a whimsical summer feel.
Each candle is hand poured with all natural soy wax and finished with a wax “ice cream” scoop top.
Each bowl has been filled with 5.75 oz of wax.
Approximate dimensions:
